GirlPie! A sweet treat indeed to have you visit my blog and leave a comment. Thank you!

One of these days I'd love to see you up on stage, playing...what? A medley of your favorite roles, perhaps. :-)

Love, Hiro

Ooh, Renita, I like that line: "More Stravinsky, less Salieri!" :-)

Holy Mackerel!

Hiro, you really cover a LOT here, and I love @Kellylivesay's suggestion to record it (or most of it), since every time I read "close your eyes" I was sitting in the dark waiting for something until I remembered I was reading ~ !

I'm SO lucky that my early training in trodding the boards, and having a very tuned-in and theatrical clan to begin with, has me on easy intimate terms with all my emotions... and a few from various characters I've been along the way...

How wonderful that your grateful readers have you to guide them through those introductions to different emotions is a safe, even musical, way.

Thank you,

"Feelings are the language of your body." Yes! So obvious now that you've articulated it. Thanks for connecting the dots, Hiro.

Also yes! to feelings as musical notes. We appreciate variety and texture in our music, why not in our emotions. More Stravinsky, less Salieri... ;-)

p.s. I'd love to hear this in audio as well...

Kim, the version of Samba de Uma Nota by Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd is one of my favorites. Thanks for the reminder to listen for the notes between the notes! :-)

wonderful post. your words about feelings being like musical notes connected with me.

it made me think, too, that there are notes between the notes! classical indian and arabic music have musical scales with semitones, microtones, sounds that the western scales don't have a home for.

it also made me think of that song, "one note samba", and how sweet it is.

Thanks, Chris. Play is a spiritual quality--it makes everything less fraught and more fun! :-)
