Dear Mahala, there's such wisdom in your question to yourself: "What in my life is actually here?"

Great pressure brings this gift of clarity. Scours everything to the bone and makes life very simple, yes?

Thank you for your beautiful response.

Hiro,

Your gorgeous post swept me from one thought to another. From life events of loss to those of healing, celebration, and the way they are all entwined if we just keep putting one foot in front of the other and LIVING.

My brain injury was the longest free fall with seemingly nothing to catch me. I would be re-writing history if I didn't say there were years of despair and suffering. But I learned (though I frequently forget) I learned that in times when nothing is working or when I am pushing myself beyond exhaustion trying to hold everything together... I learned to simply step out of the equation and let everything fall through the fault lines you speak of.

It is a matter of asking "what in my life is actually here?" What is real, what naturally arises and sustains itself.

Whatever falls apart and away, I let go. I'm left with the sweet beating of my own heart free of description and definition.
